1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how McFabb IT Solutions (Pty) Ltd collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
2. Information we collect
- Contact details you give us directly — name, email, phone number, delivery/collection address — when you submit an enquiry, request a quote, or place an order.
- Order details, such as the products or services you're interested in.
- Basic technical information (like browser type) that any website automatically receives, used only to keep the site working correctly.
- If you accept advertising cookies, information about how you reached and used our website (for example, which Google ad you clicked and which pages you visited). See Cookies and advertising below.
We do not collect or store your card details — payments are handled directly by our payment provider.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and quote requests
- To process and fulfil orders, including arranging delivery or collection
- To provide the services you've signed up for (fibre, hosting, support, etc.)
- To send you information directly related to an order or enquiry you've made
- If you accept advertising cookies: to measure how well our Google adverts work and to show McFabb adverts to people who have visited our website
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
4. Who we share information with
We only share personal information where necessary to fulfil your order or request — for example, with our payment providers to complete a transaction, our suppliers to source your products, or a courier if your order is being delivered. These providers are only given the information they need to perform their specific role.
- Payflex — if you choose to pay with Payflex, we send them your name, contact details, address and order details so they can process your payment. Payflex's own privacy policy applies to the information you give them on their payment page.
- Google — if you accept advertising cookies, Google receives information about your visit through the Google Ads tag on our website (see below).
5. Cookies and advertising
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. We use two kinds of browser storage:
- Essential storage (always on) — keeps your order list, saved products, PC builds and display choices (such as 2D/3D view) in your own browser so the website works. This stays on your device; we don't receive it unless you place an order or send an enquiry.
- Google Ads cookies (only if you accept) — we use the Google Ads tag (Google tag / gtag.js) to see which of our adverts bring visitors and orders, and to show McFabb adverts to people who have visited our website when they browse other sites, YouTube or Google Search (remarketing). Google may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visit on our site and the ad you clicked. Google may process this information outside South Africa, under its own safeguards.
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept advertising cookies. Until you choose Accept all, the Google Ads tag runs in a restricted mode that sets no advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings (also linked at the bottom of every page).
You can also control how Google uses your information for ads in your Google ad settings, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may stop the order list and saved items from working.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law (for example, financial recordkeeping requirements).
7. Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request that it be corrected or deleted, and object to certain uses of it — including objecting to the use of your information for advertising, which you can do at any time through Cookie settings. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
